I’m Tracey Kemp – a senior WordPress developer based in Australia with over 18 years’ experience, specialising in structured, data-driven websites and workflow automation.
Most of my work sits at the intersection of websites and business systems – bringing together content, data and processes in a way that’s scalable and easy to manage. This often includes WordPress, Shopify and custom integrations depending on the project.
How I work
My Process
I’m less interested in just building a website, and more interested in how it fits into the bigger picture.
That usually means taking the time to understand how a business operates – how content is managed, where data comes from, what processes are manual, and where things tend to break down.
From there, I design and build solutions that reduce friction, improve consistency and support long-term growth.
In many cases, that involves connecting multiple systems and structuring data in a way that makes ongoing management significantly easier.
Experience
I’ve spent most of my career working as a senior developer within agencies, leading the technical side of complex WordPress projects.
This has included:
- Large-scale content platforms with structured data and external integrations
- Data-driven websites connected to tools like Google Sheets
- eCommerce platforms with complex pricing and workflow requirements
- Automation of manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors
I’m comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and often act as the technical bridge between design, business requirements and implementation.
AI and modern workflows
AI is now part of how I work.
It helps speed up parts of the development process, explore solutions more quickly and keep projects moving without unnecessary delays.
What it hasn’t replaced is the thinking behind the work – understanding the business, structuring content and deciding how everything should fit together.
I use AI where it adds value, and rely on experience where it matters.
Working together
I work with both agencies and businesses, depending on the project.
For agencies, I provide senior development support on complex builds.
For businesses, I design and build websites that connect to their operations and make day-to-day management easier.
In both cases, the focus is the same – building something that works properly, not just something that looks good on launch.
The WordPress Community
Over the years I’ve been involved in the WordPress community in various capacities and have been a co-organiser of a few WordCamps along the way.
